Nov. 6, 2015 – John Nelson Harris of Groveland, Fla., was awarded first place in the 2016 Louisiana Waterfowl Conservation Stamp competition sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF). The contest determines the image to be used on what is commonly known as the Louisiana Duck Stamp.

LDWF Proposes New Waterfowl Hunting Zones for 2016-2021
Oct. 5, 2015 – In action taken at the Oct. 1 Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission meeting, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) was directed to present to the public revised waterfowl hunting zones that would be considered for the 2016-21 waterfowl hunting seasons.
Zones for waterfowl hunting can be changed every five years, and this opportunity comes at the same time the review/approval process for setting waterfowl hunting regulations is being moved to an earlier time frame in the calendar year. Consequently, changes to waterfowl hunting zones must be decided prior to December 1, 2015 to take effect for the 2016-17 hunting season.
