Yesterday (Aug. 4) Dan Ashe, director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, “re-tweeted” a “tweet” from Wayne Pacelle of the Humane Society of the United States supporting the USFWS and Administration’s position on management of refuges in Alaska.

When I underwent a vasectomy following the conception of my third child, my wife told me that my taking the step toward birth control instead of opting for her to undergo a much more risky procedure was one of the most generous and thoughtful moves I had ever made in our relationship. Little did I realize that although I, had already done my part in bringing three new, hunter-friendly females into the world, that elective surgery would years later, especially considering what's in my DNA, bring smiles to the faces of the anti-hunters known as the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Sorry PETA, the damage is already done, my pro-hunter gene has been passed on to my descendants. MDWFP uses the Boone and Crockett (B&C) scoring system, the most widely accepted method for measuring white-tailed deer antlers and other game animals.
